Spices add a "piquant touch" to many aspects of life: From finely aromatic to bitingly hot. The use of various spice ingredients is also diverse, and their omission from both old, traditional medicine and modern life is inconceivable. In the Middle Ages, for example - and occasionally today - aniseed was placed under the pillow to ensure sweet dreams. And a youthful appearance was said to be retained by those who washed in aniseed water ... quite apart from its effect as an aphrodisiac. Perhaps this the root of the blissful happiness attributable to aniseed liquors? Depending on their regional origin, these are known as Raki, Ouzo, Anisette, Pastis and Pernod.
Wellness treatment is also given the right "kick" by using aniseed and ginger. Their effect on the skin does not take long to materialize: Reviving and stimulating, it is the ideal counterpart to harmonization with cocoa.
A few facts about spices Star anise: This is a member of the magnolia family. Its seeds contain the essential oil "anethol", which lends aniseed its unmistakable aroma. These oils have an antibacterial effect and act to soothe the bronchia. Ginger: The essential oil "gingerol" is obtained from ginger root. Its refreshing, lemony odor with its hot, biting taste is typical. Corresponding to this aroma, it has a particularly stimulating effect. Not least because of its circulation-boosting property, ginger is also considered to be an aphrodisiac.
Application For a partial body treatment, mix approx. 300 g powder with 375 ml water to form a smooth paste. Use accordingly more for a full body treatment. In a film wrap with thermal blanket, allow to work in for approx. 20 minutes and subsequently wash or shower off with plenty of warm water.
Important note Please do not pour the mask residues into the sink, but simply allow them to dry on in the mixing bowl. Then dispose of them with the domestic refuse.
