HEALING HOT STONE MASSAGE feed

Whilst present day life continues to rush past at an increasingly faster and hectic pace, a wellness programme in your practice acts as an oasis of calm. Negative energy is drawn from the body, bad thoughts depart from the mind and leave behind a sense of well-being.

The HOT STONES wellness centre can be effortlessly integrated into your wellness programme. Its effect is based entirely on the power of nature. In the heater, different stones are heated to temperatures of up to 50°C; the pleasantly hot stones are then placed onto the body and / or used directly for massaging. The application can also be varied by using hot and cold stones in succession. This interaction between hot and cold has a positive impact on the energy paths (meridians). The body is flooded with pleasant warmth and well-being. The heated stones feel like the sun's rays as they glide over the body.

This type of massage is a mixture of Swedish massage and heat therapy with hot stones. Treatment with hot stones is an ancient tradition amongst Indian tribes and is also a method of treatment used in China.

The North American Indians' tribal ancestors were the masters of natural medicine involving hot stones. Innumerable generations of medicine men fervently believed in the power of nature, which could be used to heal or alleviate diseases and with whose energy the body and spirit could be combined to achieve harmonious balance.

This type of medicine was also practised in China. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is one of the oldest kinds of medicine in the world. It is now a valuable addition to orthodox, Western medicine. The reason for this is that TCM also treats the causes of diseases, not merely the symptoms. TCM is based on the concept that a person's vital energy flows through the body in energy paths, what are called meridians. Diseases arise when these energy paths are blocked or not functioning properly. These blockages and malfunctions are gently removed using various TCM methods. The treatment approach is always holistic: the body, mind and spirit are regarded as one in China. Complaints are gently rectified using a special massage.

The flow of energy in the body is stimulated by stimulating certain points, similar to the approach taken in acupuncture. During therapy, TCM physicians show their patients special points throughout the body, which the patients themselves can massage.
